Announcing Cast and Creatives for “A MidSummer Night’s Dream”

We’re over the moon to announce the full company and creative team behind our bold new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream — a collaboration between Headlong and Shakespeare’s Globe, with Bristol Old Vic and Leeds Playhouse.

Opening in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse from 15 November 2025 – 31 January 2026, before touring to Shakespeare North Playhouse, Leeds Playhouse, Bristol Old Vic, and Oxford Playhouse, this promises to be a Dream unlike any other — where magic meets mayhem, and snow falls in summer.

From the Directors

Our Artistic Director, Holly Race Roughan, shared:

“The world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a turbulent one – the natural environment is upside down, and the social and political landscape is on edge. This new staging will explore the play’s unsettling beauty and ask us to meet it anew.”
Co-Director Naeem Hayat joins Holly to reimagine Shakespeare’s timeless comedy for audiences today, continuing our mission to make every play feel like it’s being told for the first time.

The Company

The cast features Hedydd Dylan, Dannie Harris, Jack Humphrey, Lou Jackson, Pria Kalsi, Danny Kirrane, Tiwa Lade, Ben Lynn, Michael Marcus, David Olaniregun, Tara Tijani, and Sergo Vares.

Together, they’ll bring to life a world where four young lovers flee into a forest turned upside down by feuding fairies and where dreams quickly slip into something darker.
