Headlong Futures

IN COLLABORATION WITH YOUNG PEOPLE IN BRISTOL, EX-MILITARY PERSONNEL IN PLYMOUTH, ELDERLY PEOPLE IN KENDAL AND A COMMUNITY CENTRE IN MANSFIELD.

Headlong Futures is a bold and ambitious project which brings together four distinctive communities across England, creating four unique stories.

The UK is in turmoil. The zeitgeist is one of division and defiance. Headlong Futures is a response to this confusion. Headlong has worked with Bristol Old Vic, New Perspectives (East Midlands), Theatre Royal Plymouth and Brewery Arts Centre (Kendal) and their local communities, exploring how we can work together across generations, across backgrounds and across the nation.

Headlong Futures has worked with each partner theatre to create four local shows, revealing stories from communities that uncover the fractures within our country. Headlong Theatre and writer Stef Smith will take these shows and fuse them into one larger play, Acts of Resistance, which will be presented at Bristol Old Vic in April 2019.
