Corey Weekes

Corey Weekes, a rising star in the performance world, started his journey with a three-year DADA scholarship at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. Since then, he's rocked stages and screens, shining in various theatre and TV productions. He also founded Vision Centre for Actors, a free actor training centre to give hope to people who come from financially challenging backgrounds.

His debut co-written play, Rapsody, earned the Charlie Hartill Award and hit the main stage at The Pleasance Above during the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Now, his company, That’s a Rap, is co-producing a musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, where Corey showcases his lyricist skills. This electrifying production premieres in early 2025 at venues like Coventry Belgrade, Bristol Old Vic, Northern Stage, and Hackney Empire

Corey's directing and assistant directing credits span Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham REP, Royal & Derngate, and the Pleasance London. With the new year, he's eager to elevate his craft further.

Now, Corey embarks on his next adventure with Headlong's Origin program, bringing his passion for pushing boundaries and nurturing fresh talent to the forefront.
